Chatburn Village is a conservation area in the Ribble Valley electoral ward. It lies north east of Clitheroe adjacent to the A59, close to Pendle Hill and in 2011 the population was 1102. The Parish Council is the trustee of the village hall which was gifted to Chatburn in 1948. Originally a Reading Room it has been completely refurbished and includes a snooker room.
The Village Hall is available to hire for meetings and social purposes. Land for a playing field was purchased in 1937 and an additional parcel of land was gifted to Chatburn by Miss Robinson after WW2 which is held in trust by the Parish Council. The playing field is used as a Recreation Ground, Cricket Ground, Football Pitch and by Chatburn School. Adjacent to the playing field is a children’s playground.
