The annual Parish Meeting was held in the Village Hall on Monday 14th April 2025 at 7.00pm.
Councillor Whittaker presided and there were 5 electors present.

- Parking in the Village
A resident raised concerns regarding the limited parking availability in the village. There are approximately 15 businesses and 2 pubs in the area, yet only 2 premises have dedicated carparks. This results in continuous traffic from business customers, alongside regular traffic from the school and church. The situation is further exacerbated by the presence of two bus routes, as well as additional visitors to Newlands Nurseries and Shackletons.
It was noted that with ongoing developments in the village, options for resolving parking issues are limited. The matter has been discussed at multiple village meetings, but no viable solutions have been identified so far. - Tarmac Wagons
A report was made concerning three Tarmac vehicles driving through the village. A councillor will be speaking with Tarmac regarding this matter.
It was also noted that a long loader vehicle was in the village on a Sunday, with concerns raised about frequent early deliveries before 8:00 AM. Clarification will be sought on whether such deliveries are permitted on Sundays and before the 8:00 AM threshold. - Village Well Renaming
It was agreed that the village well will henceforth be referred to as the “Allotment Well”. - Overgrown Greenery on Residential Properties
Concerns were raised about overgrown vegetation on the exterior walls of 3 to 4 large houses in the village. The overgrowth is causing obstructions, particularly in areas lacking pavements, posing a safety hazard to pedestrians.
Residents of the affected properties will be contacted and kindly asked to tidy the overgrowth. If any are unable to manage this themselves, assistance may be provided through the next village clean-up initiative on the 5th May. - There being no other business the meeting was closed at 7.25pm
